Dead mouse stuck in mouse hole, help?

I used poison and killed a bunch of mice coming into my house behind my oven. Those ones are gone, however a clever mouse made a hole behind my fridge, in the carpet against the wall. I could see the mouse come and go from the hole, which wasn't there a few months ago. I placed a block of wood against the hole so it couldn't get out, I believed it must have another exit out of the hole but obviously by the stench it didn't. The hole is just small enough to fit a little mouse, Ive tried stuffing things in to block the smell but no use. I can't use tape because tape doesn't stick to carpet. After 3 days of increasing stench I can't take this....what is the best thing to do? Would using a foam type filler work or is that porous. Mainly I want to block the smell which means sealing the hole airtight. I want to do this today but am worried if the filler is porous then it will make things worse. Help please, I can't use my kitchen or living area and it smells like a funkified casserole and getting worse each day...The smell definitely comes from both sides of the fridge (ie the hole) and not from behind the oven.
