Bromine simple chemistry question?

If you use a stoichiometric amount of bromine, the color will disappear in the aqueous phase as 1,2-dibromodecane will be formed. Second reaction won't occur, but will occur under the proper (free radical) conditions if bromine is replaced by chlorine If a sub-stoichiometric amount of bromine is used in the first reaction, you'll still have a colorless aqueous phase and an organic phase in which the 1,2-dibromohexane is dissolved in the unreacted 1-hexene.
